Lessons learned in 2018: Buy the sexy underwear.
Ladies, you are beautiful. Stop hating on yourself. It’s healthy to love yourself and feel sexy.
Celebrate you in 2019 and splurge a little and buy yourself some fabulous underwear. I get it. I like me some old fashion Cotten underwear too. But if I’m honest, the reason I had a really hard time buying myself sexy underwear had to do with shame. God freed me this year.
When I shared my feelings with my husband, he obviously had no problem helping me out in this area. He surprised me with a bag full of beautiful sexy and yet still comfortable underwear from Victoria Secret. I’m kinda of embarrassed to admit this was my first time ever buying underwear from this store. Maybe I did before the kids were born a few times, but if I did I can’t remember. However, there is no turning back now. This might sound silly, but I love how I feel about me now when I’m getting dressed. My kids are getting older and I want that sexy part of me back again. I’m not waiting until I have to lose more weight or be in better shape. I’m loving me and the sexier I feel about myself the more I can share the love with my husband too. If you are married, your husband will most likely love this idea too. However, at this moment it’s not about him. I do not wear these just for him. I’m wearing them for me first. It’s not selfish to taking care of you. If you are married to a good man, he will love this new confident version of you.
Not only that, I want my girls to be confident in their own skin too. I want my son to marry a confident woman too. When they sense their mama feeling good about herself, it gives them freedom to do the same.
So, if Victoria Secret is not in the budget because it’s not always in ours either. Once agin we have four kids, three of the four are teenagers. All they want to do is eat. One is getting ready to go off to college. So when I say if it’s not in the budget, I get it. Go to Walmart or Target and give yourself permission to feel sexy once again and buy just one or two pair if that is all you can afford right now.
Remember, there is no shame in wanting to feel sexy. God made you and wants you to love your body again. Let declare no more self hate in 2019. Ladies,we can do this together.
